FLAMENCO and FLAMENCO GUITAR RESOURCES
Below is just a small sampling of the extensive Internet resources available pertaining to Flamenco and Flamenco Guitar. The list does not deal specifically with Flamenco singing (however a contradiction in terms of the Art form) or Flamenco Dancing. If you don’t know much about Flamenco: either as musical genre or in relation to guitar technique, the URLs below will get you started.
General Information and Resources for and about Flamenco:
www.luthiermusic.com/index.php (Great shop in New York with a fantastic music, CD/DVD and book holdings. The web site, however, is less-than friendly for these resources, as you have to know the title you are looking for to search, or, you have to trawl through the A-Z one letter at a time.)
www.finefretted.com/index.html (Frustratingly poor web site, but there are resources to be found here that are difficult to obtain elsewhere)
Tuition and Methods for Flamenco Guitar:
This topic is really a nightmare, as there is no proper way to learn Flamenco guitar without a skilled teacher or, better still, attending one of the available courses in Spain (some are listed above). Unquestionably, a real industry has built up around teaching methods; both in print and online resources, and they are generally of a very high pedagogical standard. The list below is provided just as a starting point and is not intended to be comprehensive. Learning Flamenco guitar is a long process: not something you are going to acquire in any real depth in a short period of time, if that is what you are seeking? The journey is everything. Enjoy it.
